The situation of the Jews in Iraq, which is becoming worse each day as a result of the continued anti-Jewish terror there, was discussed today at a meeting of the Israeli Cabinet. It is expected that Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett will take diplomatic steps.
Special attention was paid by the members of the Cabinet to the recent acts taken against Iraqi Jews who registered in Bagdad for immigration to Israel. These acts include the freezing of Jewish accounts in all Iraqi banks and the sequestering of the property of Jews registered for emigration.
