Israeli children speak faster than American adults, a study found. According to the Tel Aviv University study published this week, the average 5-year-old boy or girl in Israel utters 4.5 syllables per second — more than the average American adult. By age 17, Israeli youth average 7.7 syllables per second, more than most counterparts in the West.
Eleven Israelis made the Forbes billionaire list. Highest among the Jewish State’s subjects to appear on the ranking of the world’s 793 billionaires, published over the weekend, was shipping heiress Sheri Arison, whose estimated $5.2 billion put her in 109th place. Russian Jewish businessman Roman Abramovich, who supports Jewish life in the former Soviet Union, is listed in 11th place.
