Israeli commandos killed three Palestinians in a West Bank raid. An undercover police unit dispatched to Jenin on Wednesday shot dead the local leader of Islamic Jihad, another gunman from the group and a third Palestinian. Military sources said all three were on Israel’s wanted list, while Palestinians said one of them was a civilian driver caught in the crossfire. Islamic Jihad only recently named a new Jenin leader after his predecessor, who had tried to send a Palestinian suicide bomber into Israel, was killed in a commando raid last week.
