Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz endorsed Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s bid to retain the Likud Party leadership. Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is seeking to take control of Likud in the party’s Nov. 28 primary, said the endorsement was expected because Sharon had brought the former army chief into the government.
