Israeli Education Minister Limor Livnat is drawing criticism for her proposal to condition funding for Arab schools in Israel on the loyalty they demonstrate toward the state. Livnat said certain funding should not be given to schools that fly the Palestinian flag and observe a day of mourning for the creation of the Jewish state.
