Israel’s Ambassador to West Germany, Eliashiv Ben Horin, returned to his post in Bonn today exactly a week after he was called home for consultations in connection with the freeing of the three surviving Munich terrorists by West Germany. Ben Horin refused to comment to reporters as he boarded a jet at Lod Airport. “I have nothing to say,” the envoy said. His return to Bonn followed the receipt by Premier Golda Meir yesterday of a personal message from Chancellor Willy Brandt assuring her that West Germany has not changed its policy of opposing terrorists.
Authoritative sources here said, nevertheless, that Israel would not drop its campaign to obtain a firm commitment from Bonn to fight terrorism. The sources said Ambassador Ben Horin was instructed by Foreign Minister Abba Eban to continue to seek clarification from the West German government of its determination to resist the terrorists.
