Israeli residents of Brooklyn’s Starrett City housing project of Brooklyn are outraged and grieving over the brutal murder here of an Israeli immigrant and the subsequent rape of his wife and daughter.
Police have arrested three youths from the Bronx in connection with the murder, which occurred last Tuesday and allegedly was perpetrated by young men who worked for him. The murderers then used the victim’s house keys to enter his apartment, where they brutally raped his wife and daughter, according to police accounts.
The three suspects are charged with being part of a gang responsible for the rapes and for the murder, by strangulation with shoelaces and stabbing in a limousine the victim was driving.
Police are looking for two other youths believed to have taken part in the crimes, for which robbery is believed to be the motive.
The wife and daughter allegedly were raped repeatedly for two hours by three masked young men, who reportedly used a hair-curling iron and an umbrella to hurt the women.
A 3-year-old daughter allegedly was forced to observe the rape, and was reportedly threatened that she would be thrown out of the window. Money and jewelry were reported missing from the apartment, which had been ransacked.
A son who attends yeshiva in Baltimore was not present. The mother of the victim had come to visit Tuesday. She returned to Israel with the body. The family lives in Bnei Brak.
