The problem of coordination between the United Jewish Appeal campaign and the Israel Bond drive in this country was discussed by Premier David Ben Gurion with the leadership of the U.J.A. prior to his return to Israel, it was officially reported here today by the Israeli Consulate.
“The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation of the work they are doing for the U.J.A. in providing funds for immigration and settlement in Israel,” the report stated. “The Government of Israel,” he said, “continues to maintain the Four Point Program which aims to mobilize funds from the U.J.A. for non-repayable expenditures and the resources of the Bond Issue for constructive investments which could be repaid.
“The Prime Minister stated that he is convinced that both campaigns can go in full, coordination and cooperation. He said that Eliezer Kaplan, Israel Minister of Finance, will concern himself with the necessary steps in order to bring about full coordination in order to strengthen both activities. The government expects all friends of Israel to do the utmost for both the United Jewish Appeal and the Bond campaign,” the report concluded.
