Israeli forces killed several Palestinian gunmen in Gaza, including at least five Hamas members. Commandos backed by tanks raided the village of Maghazi in the central Gaza Strip early Thursday, exchanging fire with local Hamas militiamen. At least seven Palestinians were killed and several others wounded. Two Israeli soldiers were reported wounded. The military, which has launched several recent incursions against Hamas and Islamic Jihad positions near the Gaza-Israel border, had no immediate comment on the developments.
