Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy held talks with French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine in Paris on Israel’s plans to pull its troops out of southern Lebanon. Levy is seeking to verify whether France is willing to participate in a multinational peacekeeping force to be deployed along the Israel-Lebanon border following an Israeli withdrawal.
