The Israeli legation here celebrated the first anniversary of the Jewish state at a brilliant reception held at the Israeli mission headquarters. Mordecai Namir, charge d’affaires, received the more than 200 guests who attended the reception.
Among those present at the celebration were Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Zorin, as well as officials of the Ministries of Foreign Trade and Armed Forces. The guests also included representatives of the Turkish Embassy and–for the first time–the British Embassy. Members of the diplomatic colony who participated in the reception included British Minister Geoffrey Harrison, U.S. charge d’affaires Foy Kohler, the French and Italian Ambassadors and the Ministers of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the East European countries.
