Dr. Menahem Kahany of Israel was elected rapporteur of the second session of the Advisory Committee to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which opened here yesterday. Dr. Kahany was nominated by the Swiss representative and seconded by the delegate of the United Kingdom.
During the general debate on the High Commissioner’s report, Dr. Kahany stressed Israel’s contribution toward alleviating the world refugee problem by accepting huge numbers of real and potential refugees who might otherwise have become charges on international relief programs.
