Israeli opposition leader Shimon Peres got a Cabinet post key to his Labor Party’s entry into the government. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon agreed Thursday to name Peres his senior deputy, circumventing a constitutional dispute that arose when the Labor leader demanded to be vice premier in a future national-unity coalition — a post already taken by Likud loyalist Ehud Olmert.
