Israeli President Moshe Katsav called on Egypt and Jordan to return their ambassadors to Israel and said Israel is prepared to make “strategic concessions” for peace. Egypt and Jordan withdrew their envoys last year to protest Israeli actions during the recent conflict with the Palestinians.
