Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied reports that Israel has agreed to more than a 9 percent withdrawal from the West Bank. Netanyahu said there had been discussions on “principles” but that no specific Israeli plan had been submitted to American officials. His comments came before the arrival in the Middle East of U.S. Middle East envoy Dennis Ross, who was slated to meet with Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat today and with Netanyahu on Friday.
