Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak called on former premier Shimon Peres not to run against him in the upcoming special election for prime minister. Peres, who shared the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize with Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat and then-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, has been urged to run by some peace advocates.
