Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak said he will try to formulate a package that could break weeks of deadlock in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Barak’s comments came during a speech to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on its annual mission to Israel. His comments also came before the arrival in the region of the U.S. Middle East peace envoy, Dennis Ross.
