Israeli prosecutors recommended that a former public security minister be charged with obstruction of justice in the criminal investigation of Ma’ariv newspaper publisher Ofer Nimrodi. Avigdor Kahalani allegedly passed information on to Nimrodi relating to the investigation against him. Kahalani, a member of the Third Way Party, which holds no seats in the current Knesset, served in the government of Benjamin Netanyahu.
