Rosh Hashanah greetings have been received by the Israel Chief Rabbinate from Moscow Chief Rabbi Yehuda Leib Levin as well as from the Chief Rabbis of Hungary and Czechoslovakia, it was announced here today by Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Nissim.
Rabbi Levin’s message, which was sent in Hebrew by registered mail, extended blessings for the entire nation and concluded with a prayer for future world peace. In his reply to Rabbi Levin in his own name and on behalf of the Rabbinate and people of Zion, Rabbi Nissim wished Soviet Jewry a year of salvation and redemption.
