Israeli researchers have developed a high-energy battery that delivers power for longer periods and is more environmentally friendly than alkaline batteries. The “Super-Iron” battery can store 50 percent more energy than conventional batteries of comparable size, are rechargeable and break down into a compound that is preferable to the toxic chemicals released by other batteries.
