Israeli scientists have developed a serum to immunise people from the fatal sting of the yellow scorpion. it was announced here today by the Hebrew University. The sting of that scorpion, said to be the deadliest of the species, has taken an average of 10 lives annually in Israel, victimizing mostly children.
Dr. Aharon Zuslov, professor of zoology at the university, has been trying for 27 years to develop this special serum. In the final stages of his researches, he was assisted by Dr, Natan Goldblum, professor of virology at the university, and Dr. Haim Gerichter, chief of the laboratories at the Ministry of Health. The university report today stated they have finally improved the immunization process, and the serum has now been distributed to all hospitals throughout Israel.
