Israeli scientists have developed a low-calorie watermelon. The new watermelon contains 20 percent to 40 percent fewer calories than the normal variety. To create the diet melon, researchers at Hebrew University in Jerusalem isolated a variety that contains fructose, but not sucrose or glucose.
