Israeli security forces arrested two Palestinians suspected of planning to poison patrons of a Tel Aviv-area restaurant.
The Shin Bet announced Thursday that it was holding two Nablus men who had worked illegally at a grill in Ramat Gan while secretly enlisted with a terrorist wing of the Palestinian faction Fatah.
Arrested on an intelligence tip, the Palestinians confessed under interrogation to having concocted a tasteless and odorless poison with which they planned to spike the restaurant’s food, the Shin Bet said.
It was not immediately clear when the two would be tried and how they would plead to the charges against them in open court.
