A missile struck the Hamas squad’s car on MOnday as it passed by the village of Bureij, killing all its occupants. Palestinian accounts were divided on whether the Israeli fire came from the air or from a ground unit.
Miltiary officials had no immediate word on the tactic employed, but confirmed that Israeli forces had targeted wanted Hamas gunmen. They said the Hamas squad had recently fired mortar salvoes into Israel.
