The S.S. Theodor Herzl, Israel’s newest and largest passenger vessel, which stopped here for several days on her maiden voyage to Haifa, had a bomb scare today. The vessel left later for Marseilles with an escort of police launches until it cleared the Thames.
An anonymous message to a London newspaper said that a bomb had been placed aboard the German-built ship. London police conducted a five-hour search of the ship while frogmen inspected the hull under water. Nothing was found.
