Israeli tanks and troops entered the Gaza Strip searching for a kidnapped soldier. An armored column swept into the southern Gaza Strip early Wednesday and took up positions near the border town of Rafah in what the army called an effort to limit possible movement of the abducted soldier, Cpl. Gilad Shalit, by his Palestinian captors.
