Israeli troops killed a Palestinian gunman in the West Bank. The Al-Aksa Brigades gunman was killed in a shootout with IDF troops near the West Bank city of Jenin early Monday. There were no Israeli casualties. Al-Aksa Brigades is part of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction, and the continued Israeli operations against the group have drawn protests in Ramallah. Israel says its forces are acting to prevent planned attacks against Israelis by Al-Aksa Brigades and other groups.
