Israelis are cheering a victory by an Israeli soccer team over a favored Italian squad. “It’s the greatest victory ever for Israeli soccer,” said Dror Kashtan, the coach of Hapoel Tel Aviv, which beat AC Milan by a score of 1-0 on March 14. The victory gave Israelis a respite from the grisly news of violence with the Palestinians. The match was played in Cyprus after it was moved from Israel because of security concerns.
