Netherlands Foreign Minister Joseph Luns attended ceremonies at the residence of Israel Ambassador Daniel Lewin here today in which 42 Dutch resistance fighters were honored by Yad Vashem, the Israel center for the documentation of the Nazi holocaust. The 42 were honored for saving the lives of hundreds of Jews during the Second World War. They hid and saved the Jews at the risk of their own lives. In citing the Dutch heroes for their efforts on behalf of Jews, Dr. Lewin told Dr. Luns: “No people acted better towards the Jews than your people.”
