Israeli troops killed four Syrian-backed guerrillas in the central sector of the southern Lebanon security zone on Thursday.
The Israel Defense Force said Israeli troops on patrol shortly after midnight in the sector spotted a guerrilla unit whose members were attempting to infiltrate the zone.
The guerrillas were identified as members of the Amal movement, a Shi’ite group headed by the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri.
