Jews throughout Israel observed Passover with many of them making pilgrimages from all parts of the country to Jerusalem to Mount Zion.
At the Lydda airport, Jews brought over from Iraq were entertained at a Seder specially arranged for the newcomers under the Daily decorated hangar. The traditional function was conducted by a rabbi who arrived in the same aircraft with the immigrants. The airlift from Iraq will continue steadily during the Passover week.
Permission for 20 members of the ancient sect of Samaritans to enter Jordan territory from Israel for their traditional Passover sacrifices on Mt. Gerisim was denied by the Jordanian authorities. The Samaritans had asked for permission more than a month ago.
