Political circles here denounced the Afro-Asian draft resolution now before the UN General Assembly as a one-sided document the adoption of which would remove the basis on which the Jarring peace talks can be resumed and conducted. They said the resolution, sponsored by 19 Asian and African states and Yugoslavia consisted largely of parts of the Security Council’s Resolution 242 of Nov. 22, 1967 lifted out of context to favor the Arab interpretation. According to these circles, the main task before Israel’s UN delegation is the defeat of that resolution. They claim, on the basis of information from New York, that over a third of the member states have been lined up, though it is not certain whether all of them will vote against the resolution or merely abstain. If all cast negative ballots, the draft is sure to be defeated, the Israelis said.
