Israel’s 13th anniversary was celebrated here with a reception at the Israel Embassy attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps, Government officials, and prominent members of the Jewish community. A special memorial ceremony was held for Uruguayans who fell in the Israeli War of Liberation. Special ceremonies were organized at the Public School Estado de Israel, where the children, most of whom are not Jewish, sang Hatikva and Israel songs.
