Israel’s Cabinet will debate an initiative that would pay settlers who leave their West Bank homes of their own volition.
The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed Wednesday that discussion of Deputy Prime Minister Haim Ramon’s evacuation-compensation plan will be held Sunday but without a vote.
Ramon announced several months ago that he was working on such an initiative.
Tens of thousands of West Bank residents would likely be willing to peacefully relocate to uncontested areas of the country, according to estimates.
