Israel’s defense minister disagreed with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak over whether Yasser Arafat should be sidelined. Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said after emerging from a meeting Monday with the Egyptian leader that Mubarak thought peace efforts could continue with Arafat remaining as head of the Palestinian Authority.
