Israel’s El Al airline will post record losses of $160 million in 2001 because of lost tourism caused by Israeli-Palestinian violence, the Israeli daily Yediot Achronot reported. After losing $109 million last year, El Al needs to reduce expenses by 25 percent to carry on operating, the paper quoted an El Al source as saying.
