Israel’s entrant for the Olympic marathon was released from a prison in Ethiopia four days after his arrest.

Ayele Seteng, who immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia, returned to the African state for the final stretch of high-altitude training only to be arrested in a long-running debt dispute. A judge ordered his release from a Gondar prison on July 24 amid concerns that he might miss the Olympics.

Seteng, 53, plans to remain in Ethiopia to continue training for the Aug. 24 marathon. He finished 20th in the 2004 Olympics race in Athens.
