Israel’s fervently Orthodox Shas Party demanded that President Moshe Katsav apologize for criticizing recent remarks by the party’s spiritual leader. The demand came after Katsav said Rabbi Ovadia Yosef’s comment that the 6 million who died in the Holocaust were the souls of reincarnated sinners was akin to concluding God acts illogically or irrationally.
