Moshe Sharett, Foreign Minister of Israel, will make his first public appearance this year before the Jewish communities of America at the 19th annual General Assembly of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds to be held this weekend, December 1-3, at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington, it was announced today the Stanley C. Myers, C.J.F.W.F. president.
The Foreign Minister’s speech will be a highlight of the national “Mobilization to Meet Jewish Overseas and Domestic Needs” meeting on Sunday afternoon, December 3. Set as the closing session of the Assembly, the Mobilization will highlight the collective achievements of the welfare funds during the past five years and turn the national spotlight on their 1951 campaigns.
Mr. Sharett will join prominent American Jewish leaders in addressing 700 delegates of the organized Jewish communities at the three-day conference. Coming from all parts of the United States and Canada, the delegates will study major problems facing American Jewry in 1951 and map plans for meeting total Jewish responsibilities in Israel, overseas, nationally and locally.
