Israel’s High Court of Justice overturned a policy that had allowed kibbutzim and moshavim to rezone state-owned agricultural land for real estate development. The court ruled last week that the revenues the kibbutzim and moshavim would get from the land — estimated at tens of millions of dollars in certain areas — contradicted the principle of equality.
