Israel’s Immigration Ministry Disbanded; Functions Divided

Israel’s Ministry of Immigration passed out of existence today and its functions were taken over by four existing ministries.

Under the new arrangements, medical care of immigrants will be handled by the Ministry of Health; passport and exit visa issuance by the Ministry of the Interior; issuance of visas for entering Israel by the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department; and border control by the Ministry of Trade.
