The membership of Hapoel Hamizrachi, the Mizrachi Workers Party of Israel, is now 50,000–double what it was three years ago–it was reported here last-night at the opening of the 11th national council of the organization. A total of 60 settlements have already been established in various parts of the country by members of the movement.
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the Jewish Agency, greeting the delegates and guests, including Cabinet Ministers and members of Parliament, stressed the role of the religious workers party in maintaining the link between the Jewish State and the Jewish communities throughout the world. Other greetings were received from Chief Rabbi Israel Herzog, Tel Aviv Mayor Rokach and the Histadrut.
