Israel’s Labor Party chief proposed ceding areas of Jerusalem to the Palestinians. “We should consider giving up some Palestinian villages, and even neighborhoods” in and around the capital, Amir Peretz told Israel Radio on Tuesday, saying this would ensure “absorbing as few Palestinians as possible into Israeli territory and preserving Jerusalem’s Jewish character.”
