Israel’s last immigrant camp, the one remaining at Pardes Hanna, will be closed some time next month, it was announced here today. In July 1950, Israel had over 100, 000 immigrants in such camps, but shortly after began establishing work camps for immigrants and quickly reduced the number of idle immigrants in transit centers. It is estimated that there are now over 227, 000 persons in the work villages.
