Dr. L. Kubovy, Israeli Minister to Warsaw and Prague, has been instructed to return to Tel Aviv for consultations with the Israeli Foreign Ministry following his meeting with Dr. L. Barak, Czechoslovak Deputy Foreign Minister, it was learned here today. Dr. Kubovy is expected Thursday.
Political circles here attach importance to the summoning of the Israel Minister from Prague for discussions here. They point out that relations between Israel and Czechoslovakia have become tense following the anti-Zionist and anti-Jewish speeches delivered recently by the Premier and President of Czechoslovakia, and as a result of the recent disappearance in Prague of the Israeli Mapam leader Mordecai Oren.
From Vienna it was reported today that Mr. Oren who has been missing since his arrival in Prague almost two months ago has been imprisoned in the Czechoslovak capital for trying to persuade young Czech Jews to migrate to Israel.
