Israel’s new Chief of Staff, Gen. Moshe Levy, took the oath of office at ceremonies in the Prime Ministers Office Tuesday. He replaces Gen. Rafael Eitan who is retiring. Levy said in his first Order of the Day that the war in Lebanon is not yet over and that it was the duty of the IDF to enable the government to reach an agreement which would ensure future achievements. He added that the IDF should match the size of its forces on “land, air and sea” to the strengthening of the forces of its enemies.
