Israel’s new justice minister plans to restrict the practice of jailing Arab prisoners without bringing charges against them. Administrative detentions, which have been denounced by human rights groups, should be used “only in cases of real danger” to the Jewish state, Yossi Beilin told Israel Army Radio on Monday. His comments came after the release of Osama Barham, who went home Sunday after spending six years in prison for his membership in the militant Islamic Jihad group.
