Israel’s newest missile boat, the Nitzahon (Victory), was launched at Haifa. The 415-ton vessel, an improved version of the Reshef type, is armed with six surface-to-surface “Gabriel” missiles, two naval guns and anti-aircraft batteries. It has a cruising range of 3500 nautical miles and can attain speeds of 34 knots, nearly 40 land miles per hour. When commissioned, the Nitzahon will carry a crew of 45.
