Israel’s opposition Likud Party filed a no-confidence motion in Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s government over its appointment of an Arab legislator to the Knesset’s security-sensitive Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. The move came after Hashem Mahmeed, of the United Arab List, was named to the committee.
