Israel’s security service said it foiled a Palestinian plot to kidnap soldiers. The Shin Bet disclosed Sunday that last month it arrested two members of the Popular Resistance Committees terrorist group who had slipped out of the Gaza Strip into the Sinai Desert, and from there into Israel. Under interrogation, the detainees said they had intended to kidnap two Israeli soldiers and ransom them for the release of Palestinians held in Israeli jails. But according to the Shin Bet, the terrorists planned to kill the kidnapped soldiers and bury them in unmarked graves rather than release them.
